Boss Blues

Dear Al A. Carte,

I have a boss who’s always making advances toward me. And when I don’t acquiesce, he over-fills my in-box, so I have to work overtime. I like my job, and I know I am lucky to have one. But I hate the boss. Can you help?

Overtimed

Dear Overtimed,

You should not have to put up with this behavior. There are laws against sexual harassment. Use your NOODLE.

Noodle Pudding

1 8-oz. package of cream cheese

6 eggs

scant ½ cup sugar

¼ lb butter or margarine, melted

2 ¾ cups hot milk

1 tsp. salt

1½ tsp vanilla

1 8-oz. package of broad noodles, cooked

½ cup of corn flakes, crushed

Optional: 1 tsp cinnamon, ½ cup raisins

Beat cream cheese and eggs together until well-blended. Add sugar, margarine, milk, salt, and vanilla. Stir noodles into this mixture. Add cinnamon and raisins if you’d like.

Pour into a well-greased, large baking pan. Cover with crushed corn flakes. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour.

Ask your boss for a copy of the company’s sexual harassment policy. If that “warning” doesn’t stop his behavior, then follow the outlined procedure.

Coworker Craziness

Dear Al A. Carte,

A coworker is driving me crazy. She gets over-stressed at work and then makes outrageous accusations. Sometimes she apologizes, but you can tell it isn’t sincere.

What would you suggest I do to protect myself from her abuse?

Coworker

Dear Coworker,

Stay cool as a CUCUMBER.

Cucumber Soup

4 large cucumbers peeled, seeded, and chopped
¾ cup chopped green onions
2 tsp dried dill
1 32-oz container vanilla yogurt

Place all ingredients in blender. Puree til smooth. Refrigerate an hour.

Pour into cups and top with a mint leaf.

If you’ve done nothing wrong, it shouldn’t matter what she says. You might want to keep a log of her outbursts. Then, if the situation continues, you have proof and can discuss it with your boss.
